PRIDE

Mission:

The PRIDE Center is Sacramento State’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and Ally (LGBTQQIAA) Resource Center. It is located on the first floor of the University Union next to Round Table Pizza.
The PRIDE Center provides a Safe Zone where LGBTQQIAA students can spend their in-between-class time, access resources, find community, volunteer their time working on projects, and help others. All of these things help students who may otherwise feel isolated and marginalized engage in community, connect to campus, and feel supported toward being successful in their studies and in their lives.
Center staff and volunteers also work to educate students, staff, and faculty on campus toward creating understanding and acceptance outside the PRIDE Center. Training and educational sessions include Classroom Panel Presentations, Safe Zone Trainings, and other events.
If you or anyone you know feels they could use the support or community of peers at the PRIDE Center (for example, someone coming out, someone struggling with their sexual orientation or gender identity, etc.), please drop by! You can also call us or send us an email or attend a PRIDE Center event.
There are numerous ways to get involved with the PRIDE Center and with the LGBTQQIAA community. Step one for students, staff, and faculty is filling out the Volunteer Form.
Our college years should be a time for educating ourselves and others, building relationships, and improving the world we live in. Come visit us and make these things happen!
